HOW DO WE PAY FOR THE APARTMENT
RENTAL?
You may pay in with major credit card or cash (Ls or Euros) at time
of arrival and check-in. Our prices listed on the Internet site are
already discounted for cash or credit card payment.
HOW DO I RESERVE?
Generally by e-mail or with our easy to use reservation form. A valid
credit card number and expiration date is required for all reservations.
IS YOUR CREDIT CARD HANDLING
POLICY SECURE AND SAFE?
Yes is it very
safe.
Our Credit
Card transactions using our secure server uses the industry standard
security protocol Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to encode sensitive
information like your credit card number that passes between you and our
secure server located in the United States.
SSL works by creating a temporary, shared "key" (sort of a digital
code book) that lets only the computers on either end of a
transmission scramble and unscramble information. To anyone between the
sender and the receiver, including all the servers that may relay the
message, the SSL transmission is indecipherable gibberish. Look for the
small yellow gold colored padlock symbol on the lower right hand side of
your browser screen and the "https://" instead of the normal "http://.
This occurs normally at the time you are entering your credit card
information at the "CHECKOUT" stage of your transaction.
HOW WILL I GET THE KEYS?
You will receive the keys at our office located in the center of Riga.

IS BED LINEN AND TOWELS PROVIDED?
Yes, at no additional charge. For stays longer than 7 nights, we provide
a free light cleaning and change in bed linen and towels.
IS A TELEPHONE PROVIDED?
Yes, at no additional charge. All of our apartment flats have either a
fixed line telephone for local calls or a mobile cell telephone
available for the clients free use for local calls. Our telephones are
normally restricted for long distance and calls to mobile telephones.
However, this restriction may be lifted with a prepaid advance deposit.
IS A MOBILE CELL TELEPHONE
AVAILABLE?
Yes, we offer for a nominal fee a mobile telephone with a local Riga
telephone number. The cost of the actual call usage is at our cost plus
10%. We have both GSM SIMM chips and GSM handsets and chargers
available.

WHAT IS THE PICKUP OR
TRANSFER SERVICE?
We provide an excellent and unique transfer service from the airport to
the office for check-in and then to the apartment. The price for prepaid
taxi coupons depends on location and time of arrival and your
destination. Our rates are guaranteed and competitive.

Train station personal greetings may be
arranged. Personal greetings at the central bus station are difficult as
we never know the exact arrival time of the bus.
ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS?
No, BUT WE DO INCLUDE a lot of extras and FREE tourist information.
IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED?
Yes, we do charge a security deposit for damage, key return and long
distance telephone charges. This may be left in cash or as a
pre-authorization against your credit card. This deposit is normally
fully refundable unless there is damage to the apartment or keys are
lost. The amount of the deposit varies from 50 Ls to 250 Ls depending on
the situation. It is normally only 50Ls.

IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY RESERVATION, IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE?
Yes, we do have a cancellation notification policy. It is similar to
that of hotels and ranges from 36 hours advance notice to a longer time
for longer term rentals.

ARE THE APARTMENTS EXCLUSIVE FOR
OUR USE?
Yes, they are just for you and no one will bother you. Our staff is
issued photo ID Cards for your protection should they need to come to
the apartment. We always call in advance for access permission unless it
is an emergency.
IS RIGA A SAFE AREA?
Yes, Riga is a very safe city. However, if you go looking for trouble
like in all large cities, you are liable to find it.

Yes, if they occupy a bed. Our prices are low; but, we do charge by bed
occupancy rather than by person.
WHEN I ARRIVE IN RIGA, WHAT ARE
THE CHANCES THE APARTMENT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE?
This is an excellent question and we work hard to make sure that does
NOT happen. This is one area where you should beware with other
apartment rental options. Since we are the owner and the operator, your
satisfaction is important to us. We always have a "backup" plan
available should some situation arise. Our clients tell excellent

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TELEPHONE
YOU?
Yes, you may call; however, we recommend email due to the time
difference. Our office is open 7 days a week and we do answer our
emergency telephone number 24 hours a day. You will be provided that
number on arrival.

Prices are expressed in Latvian Ls. We usually accept Euros as well. But
we rarely accept US Dollars. We also accept VISA, MasterCard and
American Express at a slightly higher rate.

IS THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF DAYS
FOR RENTAL?
Yes, we normally only rent for five (5) days or more. However depending
on availability and number of persons, we may consider rentals of only
one to 3 nights.

DON'T KNOW MY ARRIVAL DATES, WHAT SHALL I DO?
We only accept reservations for specific arrival and departure dates.
However, most of the year we will work closely with you to make sure you
will have suitable accommodation. This is one major advantage of working
directly with the owner and operator who is located in Riga.
WHAT TIME IS CHECK OUT?
Much like a hotel, check out time is normally 12 Noon. However we are
flexible and will do our best to accommodate your needs. There may be an
extra charges for late check out after 15:00 3PM.
DO
SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS and /or Travelers Checks?
No, the use of credit cards is not yet common in Latvia. Yes, larger
restaurants, grocery stores and shops in Riga do accept credit cards. We
do recommend that you be careful as there have been reported cases of
credit card fraud. Travelers checks are only accepted by banks and
subject to a 4% service charge and their available operating hours.

THERE HOT WATER FOR SHOWERS IN THE APARTMENTS?
Yes, all of our apartments have hot water. However, there have been
times that due to maintenance by the city technicians, hot water service
may be interrupted. This is very rare; but, it does occur one or 2 times
during a year. If the apartment has a hot water heater located in the
apartment, then this may not be a problem. We do monitor the hot water
situation closely and will do our best to assure you will have hot
water. Our maintenance workers have been known to work miracles changing
hot water heaters even on weekends. This is another area where working
DIRECT with the owner operator is of benefit to you. We care and we have
backup plans in case of that unforeseen problem.
WHAT ABOUT TRAMS, BUSES and other PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION?
Riga has an excellent public transportation and taxi system. Our Tourist
Office Staff will provide you with all assistance and information that
you will require during your stay.

DO
YOU HAVE ANY OTHER APARTMENTS THAN THOSE LISTED?
Yes, we have a large inventory of available apartment all located in the
city center. However, these are normally only rented for longer stays of
one month or longer.

INCLUDED?
Parking in Riga is about 3 to 5 Ls per night with in/out privileges.
There are an extra fee paid guarded parking lots close to each
apartment.
